Reasons Why I will Vote Mayor DUTERTE

13173744_1705642232993925_946198112741402241_n2016 PH Election is coming…and there are a lot of dirty tactics happening now. Why? Because they (different camps) know that Mayor Rody “Digong” Roa Duterte is leading and winning the Filipinos’ hearts (including me).

And I would like to voice out why I will vote for Mayor Duterte. I will also mention and answer the controversies that they are accusing against our “Tatay Digong”.(yes, most of us call him that)

  1. He PROTECTS WOMEN.         Mayor Duterte is the first man who submitted Women Development Code in Davao City. Its objective is to protect and prioritize women’s rights. All women has a free access to reproductive health and wellness center and breastfeeding room in government offices. Even in jails, they have a breastfeeding room for prisoners who are mothers (Maa City Jail). Moreover, they prohibit wearing swimsuits in pageants to prevent objectifying women or exploitation. And during night time, it is safe to walk in the streets of Davao because they have high tech gadgets (such as cctv in streets, etc…). This is to ensure that no women (or even men/children) will be harassed or raped. And then they will tell that Mayor is a Misogynist? That is absurd. A lot of women protested against Duterte…but they blocked the road which is contradicting to what they are fighting for. NOT ALL WOMEN HATE DUTERTE.
  2. He is NOT CORRUPT.              Looking at his lifestyle, his clothes are simple (he doesn’t even wear his campaign shirt). His house and vehicle is not luxurious. He keeps a humble lifestyle. Too bad Trillanes, he is just killing himself by throwing false accusations or “kwentong barbero” for accusing a NON-EXISTENT 200+M in Mayor’s bank account. He is also telling that he wasn’t able to receive a waiver from Duterte, when in fact, he was given an SPA and a waiver signed by Duterte.”Naubusan lang ng copy, ayaw na magpa-photocopy”. And then he is now telling the media that there are 11,000 ghost employees under Tatay Digong? It’s a lazy move.
  3. Receives 4th SAFEST CITY IN THE WORLD.        And a lot of awards, but he refuses to accept it. He claims that he is only doing his job. Go to Davao city. Talk to Davaoenos. They will say good things about the city. Even Sec. Mar Roxas awarded Mayor for maintaining a great city. But he’s (Mar Roxas) now denying it because they are opponents.
  4. He Loves the Philippines and the Filipinos.       I really hated Mayor Duterte before. In fact, I was terrified in him because I’ve hearing rumors that he will declare Martial Law. So I made a research about him if it is possible. And after few months of studying his background, I was impressed with his credentials and his spirit for the goodness of our country. Too bad (for them) that the mainstream media only led me to love Duterte more! He can never declare Martial Law because majority of the people follow the rules when he leads (not command). Only rebellion will make him declare Martial Law, but it is impossible. Look at his campaign rallies, jam packed! People believes in him even if he is not yet the president. He is a well-respected man because he also respects others.
  5. His CHARACTER as a public servant makes him a great leader loved by the PEOPLE.      Aside from him being a low profile politician, his Bravery is an inspiration to the citizens. You know, a lot of people (including the anti-Duterte) has been branded him a lot of negative things…that he is not a good example to the Youth, he always swear, and so on…If following the law is not a good example to the Youth, then why do people still support him? Why does the youth love him? (count me in! I’m still part of the youth) If we only focus his so-called gutter language and his infidelity to his wives (which is by the way, out of his responsibility as a Politician), then, you are missing his great Leadership Character.
  6. DUTERTE IS NOT A LAZY CHOICE.         If I want a lazy choice, then I’ll just vote for Roxas or Grace Poe. If I’m lazy, then “di nalang sana ako bumoto”, di pa ako mapapagod sa pila. Di nalang sana ako nag-register after 8 years na di ako bumoto. Di nalang sana ako nagresearch tungkol kay Duterte para di ko nalaman ang credentials niya, instead iba siguro ang iboboto ko. Remember, I hated Duterte before. And now, I am enlightened with his leadership. Therefore, Duterte is NOT or NEVER a LAZY CHOICE.
  7. Voting Duterte is NOT A PROTEST VOTE. Our vote is for him because we believe in his skills, his character as a leader, and his achievements as a politician. It is true, that most of the Filipinos are now desperate of change. We are tired of the drastic rise of poverty in the Philippines. It seems like nothing is happening to the country despite of charges of taxes to the Filipinos. And with that issue, I believe that the only candidate who can change it is Mayor Duterte. He may not achieve the 3-6months crime suppression, as long as he catches the BIG Fishes or Crocodiles (who corrupts and tolerates crimes) inside the government. I just pray that no harm will be put to our Mayor (and to his supporters/same with other candidates’ supporters), because I am 100%sure that there are a lot of assassins surrounding him now until he becomes the president. Offer them 100M or more, they would probably do their job to kill him. Let’s all wish for safe election and post election for the country.
  8. MAN OF INTEGRITY. Integrity means “The quality of being honest and having strong moral principles; moral uprightness.” That’s why from the very beginning, he confesses what’s not good about him. But gladly, the people still support him despite of his imperfections. I’m just saddened because his imperfections are being used against him. Just give him a second of Privacy! I just wanted to add the credit that he volunteered to be a hostage in exchange of the freedom of a 3month old infant. How can such a man offered his life for that? He is not a messiah nor Jesus. He is just an ordinary man who’s doing his job as a public servant.
  9. His spirit is giving US HOPE.  I used to be a human rights activist. I won’t mention any grps, but I participate with events related to human rights for years. In fact, I became a council member of a certain group. I lay low because I want to focus with my family right now. But I care about the country. I still felt that I am not really doing the right thing. So I dwell on what’s going on again…and then I was led to researching about Mayor Duterte. Who’s this man who had an audacity to claim safety to the people, blah blah blah…? I really really dislike him before. In fact, My husband and I always argue about this before because he’s a pro Duterte. I even had an impression that as if he worships Duterte. I don’t want to hear or see him (Duterte) in my FB Feeds. But when I was able to watch him for the first time in PH Debates (because I want to see Sen.Miriam), I started to research about him. I am so overwhelmed with his spirit! Take note: He never planned to run for presidency, but because people wants him to lead and because he loves the country so much, he took the chance EVEN WITHOUT THE FUNDS. So a lot of people contributed for his campaigns, and the endorsers were not paid by the Mayor. So now, he is leading the surveys.
  10. He never BOASTS himself to the Public. He has a lot of achievements but he never puts his name on the projects, instead, he offers it to the people.  He never pushes himself to the people or something to that effect. He believes that all of the candidates are credible but most of us believes that he is the one. He may not be deserving (in the eyes of the non-dutertes), but I believe that God is giving him a great favor to lead the country. Because of HIM through Mayor Duterte, people are being united gradually. It is a great miracle that a man without a mahinery (campaign funds) could lead the people and compete with the giants. It is a great proof that he is loved by a lot of people. People donate campaign materials and volunteers without getting paid. I am also part of that. I am not paid to endorse him.
  11. He is not the KILLER that you used to think. This is the last one. He may told the public that he killed a lot of people but he is talking about the criminals. Also, I would like to ask, if he kills people, why don’t they file a case against him even before the campaign started? If they already know about it before, why just now??? There are also a lot of dead innocent under Duterte’s orders, but may I ask again, how about the victims of Yolanda? People dying during typhoons? The soldiers who died in Mamasapano Clash? The repetition of Tanim Bala inside MIA (Manila International Airport, I won’t address it as NAIA anymore)? The officials behind the administration should be accountable for that. And with those incidents, they are not doing anything. Isn’t that also killing people?  Not just physically, but mentally, emotionally, psychologically (and so on)…that’s a lot of issues compared to the accusations against the Mayor.

There are a lot of things that I wanted to say but I just want to end it here because I want to hear your thoughts as well. One last thing that I wanted to say, the change starts from within. If Duterte wins but we are not following the rules, then the change that we want is pointless. Let’s all be a good citizen to our nation so that the change can still be possible, with or without Tatay Digong! 🙂  Mabuhay ang mga Pilipino!

A Racist Comment Went Global

Have you heard about the news about Miss World? Congratulations to Miss Philippines. However, we couldn’t avoid negative feedback on people over the world. Here’s a video compilation of a netizen who posted racist comments about the Miss World winner. Another hater from a winner. Well there’s something I wanna say: Love or Hate, that’s still an obsession. When someone makes a great record, there will be haters everywhere so if anyone is experiencing such this, they will help you become more popular for they will spread these news to their friends and tell how not cool you are and so on…just like what happened to Miley Cyrus, Justin Beiber, and Rebecca Black. Where are they now? They’re now famous and successful because of these haters. Great job!

Beyond the Colors: Getting Started as a Beauty Guru

Beyond the Colors: Getting Started as a Beauty Guru

“parang nung bata tayo. dati you always pretend to put make-up” [“when we were just a kid, you always pretend to put make up”] – Cathy Cruz, a childhood friend

Above was a Facebook comment on a make up album that I uploaded.

And so I finally decided (after sooo many years, my husband has convinced me) to document my makeup tutorials. As a backstory, I am a self-taught painter. I paint on canvass, fabrics (shirts), wall, and face. I did some face paint jobs before in some events. As a matter of fact, they were free of charge. I don’t charge them because I like what I’m doing. I just do it out of passion.

During my high schools days, I make my sister’s hair and make up for her hosting events. My most favorite theme that I did for her was the “rockstar” look because I love dark and gothic colors. Aside from this, I also did my own hair and makeup on my graduation and my wedding.

If we talk about makeup experience, I have tons of them which is too many to mention.

When I uploaded my first make up video which is the “Rage against Pink”, I (and few people) discovered that I excel more in avant-garde style. I received great feedbacks which encourages me to continue this path. In fact, I am collaborating with a certain cosmetic brand which suits my personality. A very unique and revolutionary one.

Here is my Youtube cover photo. You can take a look at it, just search on Youtube: Girlsipa or Marga Manalo.

This won’t be possible without the help of my friends and consultants. Thanks to Sam Lanuza and Allyne Nasayao. They are the real make up artists! I learned a lot from them. Above all, to God who really surprised me in providing this kind of career or journey. Lord! why did you exposed my real feminine side? lol Thanks for letting me do this!

Stay tuned for more avant-garde makeup tutorials. Halloween is near! Do want to see some horror prosthetics? zombies? It will be in series. 🙂

Meeting for a Cause

Image[from left to right: Ferry, Channa, Sam, Nomar, Me and my baby. Photo credits from my husband, Maui]

And so our dream is now going to be a reality. If you have read my previous post, I mentioned there that we will be organizing a fund raising event for the medication support of our mentor Sir Lito. We know that chemotherapy is so expensive that’s why we decided to help him achieve all the medication expenses through a theater play.

Here’s the first meeting of our team. 4 members weren’t there because they accompanied Sir Lito’s medical check-up.

Trivia: Did you know that this group started in college? A group of Masscomm officers: Sam, Channa, Kc, Jinky, Pam, and Diah. And us (from lower batch), Ferry, and I. In 2007, we started to work together for a TV segment which aired on Studio 23. The TV show called Rush TV. It is a show by students (supervised by professionals) and for the students. Take note: we are all students during this time. Fitting our tight schedule for the shoots and meetings. Aside from this, we also have theater class under Sir Lito which we are required to participate in his Stage Plays as a hands-on training/project.

Everyone has a busy schedule. Sam is now the marketing manager of an events agency and a part time lifestyle blogger (check her blogs: Kc and Jinky is working in a mainstream TV networks. Channa resigned on her job in a mainstream Tv network too (and planning to have her own business). Diah is taking masterals while working in a corporate world. Ferry is now a mother/wife and business owner of a pastry services (check out Pastry-rific at: ), and I am a mother/wife and filmmaker for my Youtube accounts (you can see my channel:

Reuniting the same production team…it’s really a blessing because we believe that we can make this dream come true knowing that each of the members are passion-driven which Sir Lito taught us. This is also the first time that I’ll be playing a role with them (because I usually work behind the scenes). So excited to throw lines! Stay tuned for more posts…

Million March / Visiting a Mentor

Million March:Image

So I’m back again on the track.

It was really a shock when I found out that our College Adviser/Mentor is sick. During that time, we were about to leave the house to attend the million march at Luneta when I received an sms that his condition is a serious one. It didn’t sink in to me until a few minutes of silence as I was surfing the internet. From that moment, I couldn’t lift a finger and just froze for a while. I locked into our room and thinking about it all over again which cause me a great migraine. So the appointment was delayed and we (husband and I) started to argue. Why am I so silent that time? He can’t help but blame himself because he thought that he did something stupid that made me mad or upset…

After long hours of silence…(about 4 hours) I finally decided to attend the march, rain or shine. This Million March is a one day event wherein all Filipinos are invited to attend to scrap the Pork Barrel. It is very happy to see that many citizens participated. We wear white to show peace and unity.

For the record, this is the first protest rally that my daughter attended. She participated too; dancing in front of the stage, feeling the rhythm of the music. We didn’t able to finish the event because we’re afraid of the heavy rain to come out.

Visiting Mr. Lito Casaje:

The following day, we visited our adviser, Sir Lito in his condominium. I was with my college friends and my husband. Seeing him again…I’m surprised with his looks. He doesn’t look ill. He looks healthy and happy. I bet his fighting spirit still lives in him. His love and passion for artistry didn’t fade. That’s what I admire in him. His living room is full of books and papers from his office and huge paintings from his fellow artists. I felt like I went back to my college days. Nostalgic. He lives alone and a maid is the only one taking care of his household chores. I feel sad for him in this aspect but thank God because He blesses our professor with caring daughters, that’s us, his students.

Before we leave, we gave him a little remembrance: A medium-sized frame provided by Sam with a flip cartoon animation made by me. We wrote our uplifting messages there to encourage him to fight his cancer and live the life of arts. In return, he gave us his first published book. It is his collection of short scripts. If you want to learn basic scriptwriting, you can purchase the book from him.

To our excitement for his recovery, Sam and Channa proposed to organize a fund raising and tribute for him. An event that is close to his heart, theater play. Our dreams are about to happen in months…for the reader, please pray for our Sir Lito Casaje for his fast recovery. He may still live longer and produce more theater plays in the future.

Get amazed with his voice…Vitas

And so, I’m back again! It’s 11:57pm here and I couldn’t sleep because of the concept that I wanted to make.NOW. Remember the last post? Dance painting…It is still playing on my mind.

While I was in the middle of a pre-production and brainstorming meeting, I was floating around, thinking the desire to paint while dancing.

Anyhow, here’s the song that I wanted to dancepaint (but I wanted to call it contemporary art…which is better and appropriate?). It’s from a Russian[I just realized that my concept ideas or interests lately are found in Russia…the Russian dance painter, now the Russian singer…] singer named Vitas and his voice is such a gift. Define male whistle?!

I like the song because his voice so interesting (he’s the only male singer that I’ve seen singing in this very high pitch like Regine Velasquez or Mariah Carey). Now I gave you a clue. Just watch it. You’ll be amazed.

If you can’t understand Russian, then here’s the translation of the song:

Lyrics from:

OPERA # 2- Vitas

My house has been built,
But I’m still alone here.
The door slammed behind my back,
The autumn wind knocks my window,
It cries for me again.
There was thunderstorm is in the night,
And there’s a mist in the morning,
The sun got cold long ago.
Ancient pains
Are passing by
Let everyone gather.

My house has been built,
But I’m still alone here.
The door slammed behind my back,
The autumn wind knocks my window,
It cries for me again.
It’s my destiny & I can’t do anything with this.

My house has been built,
But I’m alone in it.
A door was slammed behind my back.
Autumn wind is knocking at the window,
It’s crying over me again.
It was thunderstorm last night,
So it’s foggy in the morning.
The Sun got quite cold.
Old anguishes
Are going in a long train.
Let them get together.

My house has been built,
But I’m alone in it.
A door was slammed behind my back.
Autumn wind is knocking at the window,
It’s crying over me again.
It’s my fate, I can’t
Ask my fate for anything.
I only know, how the winds
Will cry after I’ve gone.

Enjoy watching and be amazed with Vitas’ unique golden voice!

is the name of the island. It is also the name of my husband.
I got stunned with picture and the title
The name speaks for itself, wonderful!
Wishing that one day, I could bring him to this place like paradise.

Christmas is Near!

I’m not really a fan of Christmas but I got amazed with  Wordpress’ Christmas theme.  When I opened my blog page, I saw little white flakes dropping slowly on the screen of my laptop but suddenly I realized that it wasn’t a product of my dirty screen(I thought it was a dirt), its a snow effect! lol.

Thanks to WordPress for putting a snow on my page! I feel winter even if we don’t experience snow here.

Enjoy your Christmas season!

Fishing in the Flood with Husband

September 2012. Floods are everywhere. It took a month to recover from the calamity that has happened. But since my family possesses a positive attitude, we took advantage of it instead.

Fishing! There were small fishes outside the house (from the lake nearby) so we made a DIY fishing tool for fun. Check out this documentation and you may try this too!

Flash Flood at Binan, Laguna. God is Bigger than Floods and Calamities

“It’s Raining outside, aren’t they?” (sorry for attempting such a corny joke)—This grammatical error joke pops on my head whenever I see rain. And yes, it’s raining here until now. The rain won’t stop that it made me feel so sleepy and hungry, craving for vegetable soup. So I made vegetable soup (potato and carrots). Anyhow…I’ll share a true story.

Last September(2am), My husband and I were having a radical grace study (we documented and made a video blog about it- check out We talked about how his life was changed when he first heard of the good news. The grace gospel. He said- that during his younger days, his life was full of worries and sin consciousness. Whenever he commits a sin, he feels dirty and he feels like he needed to do something to be forgiven by God. It just went bad for him. He felt that he’s forced to make an action to receive the righteousness. Until one day, he had a revelation from God.

Galatians2:21(NIV) “I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!”   This verse was his one of his highlights during our study. It says there that Christ died for us to be righteous. Therefore, WE ARE RIGHTEOUS BECAUSE OF JESUS’ DEATH. His blood washed away your sins since the day that you were born until the day that He comes back. You cannot work for your own righteousness because Jesus already did it. Accept that truth for it is the good news.

Going back to the story, my husband is now overflowing with the abundance of grace that he couldn’t take it anymore and he is now sharing this overflowing joy about the good news from the Lord. He’s now reigning, preaching youth dancers and many people has been touched by God’s glory.

Fast forward to 2012 (insert audio: swirling sound with electricity like traveling on a time machine). While we were in the middle of the video preach, a dog was barking outside of the house. We couldn’t proceed because of the loudness sound that it makes. We felt like something was stopping us, but we still proceed whatever happens. Until the clock strikes 3, we look outside and we were surprised that the flood is reaching on our gate and it’s about to get into the house (the flood usually don’t reach that area whenever there’s a storm coming). My sister-in-law was on their way out of the city. They left immediately using her car while we stayed inside the house. After half an hour, we got an SMS from her maid, saying they got stranded inside the car.

On my sister-in-law’s Scenario: she went out of the car to ask some help while her daughter and her maid were left inside. The rain won’t stop that the flood is rising so fast. We tried to  contact my sister-in-law but we couldn’t able to call her because the coverage area has no signal. So we took an action, my husband went out to find them (I can’t leave the house because of my baby, so all I can do is to wait for them).

The flood reached almost half of the car and if they stayed there for a while, the water might get inside and drown them inside. The maid opened the car window to shout for help.

On the other hand, my brother-in-law (who was in another car that assisted sis-in-law) got stranded too. He stayed nearby church.

After a very long walk on a fast flowing flood, my husband found my sis-in-law’s daughter with her nanny sitting on a roof of a house while holding an umbrella. The rain stops and the other family members were also found safe. Thank God, they all went home safely. They arrived at the house riding a small boat around 6 in the morning. After that, everyone gathered and tell their stories and experiences. In the end, my sis-in-law and the others who got stranded didn’t get traumatized. They even laugh at it. God made them very strong in the midst of their struggles. The best proof here is in niece’s story. She remained strong and cheerful after they had a very hard time outside. She told us that she didn’t get scared. God is really so good that even tragedy comes in our lives, He’ll make it sure that no one will harm His children. He is bigger than calamities.
